The first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of sun protection is to protect skin, hardly think of protecting eyes. Actually, some studies suggest that UV rays are really harmful to eyes and may cause keratitis, cataracts, retinal damage and so on. Hence, for health sake, eyes deserve our special attention.
Please don't look up into the sun. Delicate eyes are easily hurt.One may feel dizzy after looking up to sun for a short while. Long-term direct view to sunlight will cause pain, tears, inflammation and blurred vision and even hurt retina.

Wear hat or raise a parasol when you are outing. At the same time you can wear bifical eyeglasses which are also effective in protecting eyes from sunshine. It should be noted that you'd better buy a pair of progressive glasses of good quality. If your sunglasses are poor in quality, your eyes will suffer instead of benefit. One must buy himself/herself a pair of sunglasses with anti-UV function. Medical studies have certified that lenses in grey are best as grey have little influence on the effect of vision but effective in anti-UV. People wearing contact lenses can buy UV-protective ones which are able to block 90% ultraviolet radiation. It would be safer to add a pair of progressive eyeglasses. It's best to avoiding going out at noon when the sun is very strong and much harmful to our skin and eyes.
